MADE IN BRIS

Micro City Axo.jpg

Made in Bris is a project that explores the historic development of an existing city block and how the densification of the city might evolve in the future. The project is finalised by the design of a micro city that takes its inspiration from Sunnybank's iconic food culture.

After investigating the historic development of a city block, a number of small block combinations were generated to explore how a standard suburban block could be densified by combining residential and commercial elements with a public commons space.

The resulting design featured an 'eat street' idea along one axis that gave on the public commons and was surrounded by residential. The micro city design consists of 18 duplexes, additional spaces that can be used for residential or commercial purposes, a series of commercial spaces and the public commons.
